Empowering Rwanda: Establishing a TVET Campus for Skills Development & Economic Growth
In a significant move to bolster technical education and skills development, Amb. Dr. Chelsea Nkechi Onwudinjo, alongside Rwanda’s Minister of State in Charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Isaac Munyakazi, and Ambassador Cesar, spearheaded the establishment of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) campus in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2020.
This initiative aimed to enhance skills development and provide quality education to both government-sponsored scholarship recipients and private students, aligning with Rwanda’s commitment to advancing technical education and fostering economic growth.
The collaboration underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in creating educational opportunities that meet the demands of the modern workforce. By focusing on TVET, the project sought to equip students with practical skills essential for national development, thereby contributing to Rwanda’s vision of becoming a knowledge-based economy.
The involvement of key stakeholders, including Amb. Dr. Chelsea, Dr. Munyakazi, and Ambassador Cesar, highlighted a unified commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
This strategic initiative not only prepared the nation for CHOGM 2020 but also laid a foundation for sustainable development through education, ensuring that Rwandan youth are well-prepared to tackle future challenges and seize emerging opportunities.
